Powertrain Control Module: Installation

  1. Connect the PCM electrical connectors to the PCM. Tighten connectors to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the PCM and harness into the air cleaner housing. Install the air cleaner housing cover assembly.
  2. Reinstall the 2 screws to the 2 air cleaner housing sections. Carefully reinstall the air intake duct to the throttle body and to the air cleaner housing. Tighten the clamp securing the air intake duct to the air cleaner housing. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. The new PCM must be programmed. See PROGRAMMING . The replacement PCM will not allow secondary air injection pump operation until a total of 10 miles have been accumulated.
