Powertrain Control Module: Removal

  1. PCM is located inside air cleaner housing assembly. See Figure. Turn OFF the ignition. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.
  2. Loosen the clamp securing the air intake duct to the air cleaner housing. Carefully remove the air intake duct from the throttle body and from the air cleaner housing. Remove the 2 screws from the 2 air cleaner housing sections. Remove the air cleaner housing cover assembly.
  3. Without disconnecting the PCM connectors, remove the PCM and harness from the air cleaner housing. Disconnect the PCM electrical connectors.
