Hot...Reduce Engine Rpm-10

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora and 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The DIC displays the HOT...REDUCE ENGINE RPM-10 message when the PCM determines that the coolant temperature is above the normal operating range. The DIC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination. The IPC sends a class 2 message to the radio in order to activate an audible warning.
