Circuit Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Sierra, 2003 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2003 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The body control module (BCM) receives a variable voltage signal from the instrument panel (I/P) dimmer switch requesting to illuminate the dimming lamps to a desired intensity. When this occurs, the BCM directly sends a pulse width modulated (PWM) voltage based on the I/P dimmer switch position through the LED dimming signal circuit to the various On/Off switches.
