Electronic Brake Control Module Scan Tool Data Parameters

Parameter System State Expected Value Description
Operating Conditions:  Ignition ON
ABS Active - No The scan tool displays Yes or No. Yes is displayed if the ABS system is engaged.
ABS Failed - No The scan tool displays Yes or No. Yes is displayed if there is an ABS fault.
Accum. Pressure Sensor - Varies The scan tool displays MPa or PSI. The scan tool displays the amount of brake fluid pressure stored in the accumulator.
Battery Voltage Signal - Varies This displays volts. This is the voltage status of the electronic brake control module (EBCM).
Brake Fluid Level Status - OK The scan tool displays OK or Low. This is the state of the brake fluid level.
Brake Pressure Sensor Input - Varies The scan tool displays 0-5 Volts. The scan tool displays approximately 1.5 volts when the ignition is ON.
BPP Signal - Released The scan tool displays Applied or Released. This is the state of the brake pedal.
Delivered Torque - Varies The scan tool displays 0-100%. The scan tool displays the duty cycle of the delivered torque PWM signal. The duty cycle of the signal is used to transmit how much engine torque the ECM is delivering. Normal values are between 10 and 90 percent duty cycle.
Digital SWPS Phase A - Varies The scan tool displays High or Low. This is the state of the digital steering wheel position sensor phase A. When the steering wheel turns, it toggles between high and low.
Digital SWPS Phase B - Varies The scan tool displays High or Low. This is the state of the digital steering wheel position sensor phase B. When the steering wheel turns, it toggles between high and low.
DRP Active - No The scan tool displays Yes or No. This is the state of the dynamic rear proportioning (DRP).
DRP Disabled - No The scan tool displays Yes or No. This is the state of the dynamic rear proportioning (DRP).
Engine Drag Control Failed - No The scan tool displays Yes or No. The state of the engine drag control depends on the state of traction of the tires and engine RPM.
Lateral Accelerometer Input - 0 m/s 2 (0 ft/s) The scan tool displays the sideways acceleration of the vehicle in meters per second (m/s) or feet per second (ft/s).
LF Wheel Speed Sensor - 0 km/h (0 mph) This displays km/h (mph). This is the current speed of the left front wheel speed sensor.
LF Inlet Solenoid Command - Off The scan tool displays On or Off. On is displayed when the left front inlet valve solenoid is commanded on.
LF Outlet Solenoid Command - Off The scan tool displays On or Off. On is displayed when the left front outlet valve solenoid is commanded on.
LR Wheel Speed Sensor - 0 km/h (0 mph) This displays km/h (mph). This is the current speed of the left rear wheel speed sensor.
LR Inlet Solenoid Command - Off The scan tool displays On or Off. On is displayed when the left rear inlet valve solenoid is commanded on.
LR Outlet Solenoid Command - Off The scan tool displays On or Off. On is displayed when the left rear outlet valve solenoid is commanded on.
Panic Brake Assist Failed - No The scan tool displays Yes or No. The state of the panic brake assist depends on the state of traction of the tires and engine RPM.
Pump Motor Command Voltage - Varies This displays Volts. This is the voltage status of the EBCM pump motor command.
Requested Torque - Varies The scan tool displays 0-10%. The scan tool displays the duty cycle of the Requested Torque PWM signal. The duty cycle of the signal is used to transmit how much engine torque the EBCM is requested.
RF Inlet Solenoid Command - Off The scan tool displays On or Off. On is displayed when the right front inlet valve solenoid is commanded on.
RF Outlet Solenoid Command - Off The scan tool displays On or Off. On is displayed when the right front outlet valve solenoid is commanded on.
RF Wheel Speed Sensor - 0 km/h (0 mph) This displays km/h (mph). This is the current speed of the right front wheel speed sensor.
RR Inlet Solenoid Command - Off The scan tool displays On or Off. On is displayed when the right rear inlet valve solenoid is commanded on.
RR Outlet Solenoid Command - Off The scan tool displays On or Off. On is displayed when the right rear outlet valve solenoid is commanded on.
RR Wheel Speed Sensor - 0 km/h (0 mph) This displays km/h (mph). This is the current speed of the right rear wheel speed sensor.
Steering Wheel Position - Varies This displays degrees. This is the signal received from the steering angle sensor.
SWPS Signal A - Varies The scan tool displays 0.8-3.8 volts. The scan tool displays 2.5 volts when the steering wheel is centered with the front wheels directed straight ahead.
