Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

    Turn the 6 front compartment sight shield retainers (1) a quarter turn counter clockwise to release on both sides.

    Front Compartment Side Sight Shield- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

    NOTE:

    Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool.

    Front Fender Ornamentation Vent Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]

  5. Release the retainers.
  6. Front Fender Ornamentation Vent- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

    Using the appropriate trim tool, remove the windshield wiper arm finish caps (1) from the windshield wiper arms (3).

  8. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut (2) - Remove [3x]
  9. Using the appropriate tool, remove the windshield wiper arms (3).

    Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Remove [4x]

  11. Windshield Washer Nozzle Hose - Disconnect
  12. Lift the front edge of the air inlet grille panel (2) and slide the panel forward from both hood hinges to remove.

    Insert a suitable flat-bladed plastic trim tool between the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover insert (1) and windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover (2).

  14. Separate the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover insert (1) from the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover.
  15. Windshield Multifunction Sensor Mount Bracket Cover Insert (1) - Remove

    Using a suitable plastic trim tool, carefully pry downward on the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover (1) to release it from the windshield.

  17. Pull downward to remove the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover (1) from the windshield.

    Disconnect the electrical connectors.

  19. Inside Rearview Mirror Bolt (1) - Remove
  20. Inside Rearview Mirror (2) - Remove

    Disconnect the headlamp automatic control ambient light sensor wiring harness connector (1) from the headliner wiring harness connector.

  22. Unclip the windshield outside moisture/ambient light and humidity sensor (3) from the inside rear view mirror bracket and lower.
  23. Disconnect the headlamp automatic control ambient light sensor wiring harness connector (2) from the windshield outside moisture/ambient light and humidity sensor (3).
  24. Windshield Outside Moisture/Ambient Light and Humidity Sensor (3) - Remove and DISCARD

    Disconnect the electrical connector.

  26. NOTE:

    Observe the mounting and location of the front view camera to ensure proper reinstallation.

  27. Release the retaining tab.
  28. Slide the front view camera (1) upward to release.
  29. Front View Camera (1) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Do NOT remove or service the sensor farm pins.

    Release the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket (1) retaining tabs and slide the bracket upward to disengage the sensor farm pins.

  31. Gently pull the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket (1) away from the windshield.
  32. Release the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket (1) retaining tabs and slide the bracket upward to disengage the sensor farm pins.
  33. Gently pull the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket (1) away from the windshield.
  34. Cover to protect the following parts from broken glass:
    • Upper Dash Pad
    • The defroster outlets and A/C outlets
    • The seats and carpeting
  35. { If equipped } Remove the lower windshield supports from the cowl panel.
  36. NOTE:

    Before cutting out a stationary window, apply a double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces and the interior trim.

  37. { If equipped } Using the appropriate tool, carefully cut around the lace, start in the center working from side to side of the window to access the urethane adhesive bead.

    NOTE:

    Keep the cutting edge of the tool against the window.

    Use J-24402 - A  Glass Sealant Remover (1) to remove the window.

    • Leave a base of urethane on the pinchweld flange.
    • The only suitable lubrication is clear water.

    With the aid of an assistant, remove the windshield (1) and locating pin (2) from the vehicle.
