Control Circuit Inspection

■ Check short in harness 

1. IG "OFF". Disconnect the metal core box and ECM (PCM) connector.
2. Measure the resistance between main relay control terminal of metal core box harness connector and chassis ground.

   Specification:  Infinite

3. Is the measured resistance within specification?

   YES 

   • Go to "Check open in harness" procedure.

   NO 

   • Repair short in control harness. Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

■ Check open in harness 

1. IG "OFF". Disconnect the metal core box and ECM (PCM) connector.
2. Measure the resistance between main relay control terminal of metal core box harness connector and main relay control terminal of ECM (PCM) harness connector.

   Specification:  Approx. below 1Ω

3. Is the measured resistance within specification?

   YES 

   • Substitute with a known - good metal core box and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace metal core box and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

   NO 

   • Repair open in control harness. Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
