CAN Communication Circuit Inspection (ECM ↔ ABS/ESC)
- Ignition "OFF"
- Disconnect 4WD ECM connector and ABS/ESC connector
- Measure the Resistance between CAN-HIGH terminal of 4WD ECM harness connector and CAN-HIGH terminal of ABS/ESC harness connector.
- Measure the Resistance between CAN-LOW terminal of 4WD ECM harness connector and CAN-LOW terminal of ABS/ESC harness connector.
Specification : below 1Ω
- Is the measured Resistance within specification?
YES
- Substitute with a known - good "ABS ECU" or "4WD ECU" and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace "ABS ECU" or "4WD ECU" and Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Check for open/short in harness.
- Repair as necessary and then Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
