Active Hood lift System Control Module: Function
The AHS is a preventive device that lowers the impact of head trauma on pedestrians. In the case of a collision between a car and a pedestrian or an object, it elevates the hood to prevent a secondary clash between the person and the components inside the hood.
The AHS CM* uses CAN lines to receive information about vehicle speed, ambient temperature, and engine operational status and to transmit a warning signal, preventive message for a fire, and a signal indicating whether CAN information is received or not.
