DTC Information And Inspection: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Sensor signal response time monitoring (Lean to Rich)
  1. Poor connector connection
  2. Air leak in Intake or Exhaust System
  3. Faulty injector
  4. Faulty fuel pressure
  5. Faulty HO2S (B1/S2) circuit
  6. Faulty HO2S (B1/S2)
Enable Condition
  • Vehicle speed more than 20 km/h (12.43 MPH)
  • Atmospheric pressure more than 75 kPa
  • Temperature above 720°C (1328°F) of front oxygen sensor tip for more than 70 seconds of front oxygen sensor heating time
  • Temperature above 635°C (1175°F) of rear oxygen sensor tip for more than 80 seconds of rear oxygen sensor heating time
  • Difference between the lambda setting value and the actual value is less than 0.25
  • Temperature above 50°C (122°F) of ECT
  • Rear oxygen sensor voltage more than 0.6V
  • Engine torque is between 10 - 20 Nm and 100 - 200 Nm (depending on engine speed)
  • Catalyst model temperature 470 - 930°C (878 - 1706°F)
  • Engine speed is between 832 and 3168 RPM
  • Engine load s between 9 - 11% and 35 - 42%
  • Driving condition
    • Difference between the actual engine speed and the filtered engine speed is less than 320 RPM
    • Difference between the actual intake air volume and the filtered intake air volume is less than 130mg/stroke
    • Difference between the actual lambda value and the filtered lambda value is less than 7%
    • Intake air value is more than 8.0g
  • Intake air value is more than 2.0g
  • Lambda control activated
Threshold Value
  • When the oxygen sensor voltage changes from lean to rich, it is more than 0.8 seconds
Diagnostic Time
  • 25 seconds
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
