DTC Information And Inspection: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Plausibility check
  1. Poor connector connection
  2. Air cleaner dirt
  3. Damage to the engine oil cap or dipstick, not attached or improperly mounted
  4. Intake system leakage
  5. Faulty IAT sensor
Enable Condition Case 1
  • Engine speed is between 768 and 960 RPM
  • Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) is greater than 56°C (132.8°F)
  • Integrated mass air flow is greater than 9000g
  • Battery voltage is between 11V and 16V
Case 3
  • Battery voltage is between 11V and 16V
  • Engine stop time is more than 480 minutes
  • After engine start, engine coolant and engine oil temperature decreases below 2.5°C (36.5°F) for 15 seconds over 25 km/h (15.53 MPH) in vehicle speed
  • After engine start, the ambient air temperature decreases below 2.0°C (35.6°F) for 15 seconds over 25 km/h (15.53 MPH) in vehicle speed
  • After engine start, the intake air temperature decreases below 4.0°C (39.2°F) for 15 seconds over 25 km/h (15.53 MPH) in vehicle speed
  • Intake air temperature is above -30°C (-22°F)
Threshold Value Case 1
  • Intake air temperature signal variation since engine start less than 0.15 - 0.26°C (32.27 - 32.47°F) (Depending on intake temperature)
Case 3
  • Difference between the maximum value of the intake air temperature sensor and the maximum value of the ambient air/engine coolant temperature 1/engine coolant temperature 2/oil temperature is more than 20° C (68°F) and is detected more than 3 times

  • 2 driving cycles
