Purge Control Solenoid Valve (PCSV)
The Evaporative Emission Control System (EVAP) keeps HC vapor generated by the fuel tank from turning into photochemical smog. Such fuel emissions gather in the canister and the Engine Control Module (ECM) turns those gases back to the engine by opening and closing Purge Control Solenoid Valve (PCSV). Those gases will be re-used as fuel. The PCSV manages the fuel flow between the canister and the intake manifold according to the engine ECM's command.
