Accel Position Sensor (APS)
Accel Position Sensor (APS) plays an important role in determining fuel amount by transmitting the driver's accelerating intention to the engine Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The sensor is divided into APS 1 and APS 2 to enhance the sensor's reliability. The APS 1 and APS 2 consist of separate powers and grounds. The APS 2 shows the 1/2 output of the APS 1 and decides a fault if the ratio of the APS 1 to APS 2 changes. When the APS 1 is out of order, the APS 2 signals can replace those of APS 1 and vise versa.
