OPTS (Oil Pressure & Temperature sensor)
OPTS (Oil Pressure & Temp. sensor) measures oil temperature and pressure.
Oil density varies according to oil temperature so ECM receives signal values of oil temperature from OPTS and gives temperature compensation. In addition, engine parts such as valve get larger friction in low temperature and CVVT responsiveness gets worse. Therefore, ECM operates CVVT beyond the set temperature based on the received output value from oil temperature sensor in order to work under proper temperatures.
Variable oil pump system aims to improve fuel efficiency using oil pressure control. It controls according to the input oil pressure value from OPTS.
