Fuel Pump Control Module (FPCM)
The variable fuel pump system controls the fuel feed rate of a low-pressure fuel pump by controlling voltage based on RPM and road conditions.
It has the following advantages compared to a mechanically-regulated fuel pump: low current consumption rate thanks to an optimized fuel feed rate, higher fuel efficiency, low pump noise, and longer lifetime of the fuel pump.
Engine Control Unit (ECU) sets target fuel pressure and sends it to the Fuel Pump Control Module (FPCM). The FPCM operates the low-pressure fuel pump to meet the target pressure with help from the Fuel Pressure Sensor (FPS).
