Transmission Oil Temperature Sensor: Removal

CAUTION:
  • When DTC for solenoid valve is ON, replace according to the following procedure:
  • Automatic transmission is composed of fine components. Use special caution when assembling/disassembling to avoid any damage of the component.
  • Maintain clean condition so that foreign substance does not get into the automatic transmission.
  • Use a coated apron, latex gloves, and stainless tray to prevent foreign substance from getting into the transmission.
  • ATF is reusable. Store it in a clean 10 liter beaker.
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Remove the valve body cover (oil filter).

    (Refer to Hydraulic System - "VALVE BODY COVER (OIL FILTER) ")

  3. Disconnect the E module connector (A).

  4. Loosen the bolts and then removing the valve body assembly (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

  5. Be careful when removing the valve body cover because the remaining ATF remains in the valve body cover.
  6. Loosen the bolts and then replace the E-Module (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

CAUTION:
  • When installing, after mounting the E-module, lightly tap the connector part (A) to insert the connector certainly and then tighten the bolts.
