Coolant Temperature Sensor (Metro, Prizm & Tracker)

Coolant temperature sensor is located on side of throttle body (Metro), intake manifold (Tracker) or behind distributor (Prizm). A reference voltage (supplied and monitored by ECM) is modified by sensor resistance. Its thermistor changes resistance with respect to temperature. High temperature causes low resistance. Low temperature causes high resistance. ECM uses this information to determine control (output) signals to injectors and emission components.
