Crank Angle Sensor (Metro & Prizm)

Engine speed signal (3 pulses per revolution on Metro or 4 pulses per revolution on Prizm) is generated by the pick-up coil and trigger wheel assembly in the distributor. This pulsing signal is sent to ECM where it is used to calculate engine speed and used as input to determine control system functions.
