Code 71, EGR Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit (CALIFORNIA Only)

Code 71 indicates that EGR gas temperature sensor has signaled the ECM of a temperature greater than or less than the calibrated range.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.

The ECM should provide 4-5 volts to the EGR gas temperature sensor.
The ECM provides ground for the EGR gas temperature sensor.
