Control Relay

Fuel pump is energized by control relay when engine cranking signal exists from ignition switch. When cranking signal is supplied to ECM and engine is running, ECM provides a ground for the relay at ECM terminal. When coolant temperature is less than 10°F (-12°C), and ignition is on, the ECM energizes control relay and operates fuel pump for 3 seconds even if no ignition signal is received.
