Self-Diagnostic System

The Cruise Control Module (CCM) has a self diagnostic capability. Using the cruise control switch and on-board diagnostic charts, a self-test can be performed which covers all switch signals and vehicle speed sensor signal. In addition to an on-board diagnostic test, Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) can be read through the CRUISE indicator light on instrument panel.

In many cases, when a system fault has been identified by the CCM, cruise operation will automatically be disabled and a DTC will be stored in memory. When this occurs, CRUISE indicator light will flash 5 times. Light will flash 5 times every time driver attempts to re-engage cruise control system.
