Removal & Installation
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Oxygen sensor(s) may be mounted in exhaust manifold and/or exhaust pipe, below exhaust header. Sensor is equipped with a permanent pigtail which must be protected from damage when removing sensor. Ensure sensor is free of contaminants, but avoid using cleaning solvents of any type.
- O2S sensor may be difficult to remove when engine temperature is less than 120°F (49°C). Use care not to damage exhaust manifold threads. Always use anti-seize compound on threads before installing NEW sensor. New sensor comes pre-coated with anti-seize compound. DO NOT remove anti-seize compound from sensor. Tighten O2S to 33 ft. lbs. (45 N.m).
