Fast Idle Control Solenoid (1.6L)

  1. Disconnect 2-pin connector at fast idle control solenoid valve. Disconnect upper vacuum hose from fast idle control solenoid valve, and connect vacuum gauge to valve.
  2. Start engine. While observing vacuum gauge, use jumper wires to energize fast idle control solenoid by connecting battery voltage to Black/Yellow wire and grounding Blue wire of solenoid valve. If gauge does not read manifold vacuum, replace fast idle control solenoid valve.
