Section 6 (Engine Controls - System/Component Tests - 2.2L): Introduction
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Honda Prelude, 1995 Honda Odyssey, and 1995 Honda Accord. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
For testing and diagnosis of Variable Valve Timing (VTEC) system, see DTC 21 and DTC 22 charts under DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES in TESTS W/CODES
- 2.2L article.
Before testing separate components or systems, perform procedures in BASIC TESTING - 2.2L article. Since many computer-controlled and monitored components set trouble codes if they malfunction, also perform procedures in TESTS W/CODES - 2.2L article.
NOTE:
Perform all voltage tests using a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless stated otherwise in test procedure. Testing individual components does not isolate shorts or opens. Use ohmmeter to isolate wiring harness shorts or opens.
