REVISION SUMMARY

BACKGROUND

Some customers may notice that the engine rpm does not immediately drop when shifting gears, and/or the vehicle surges when driving in 1st gear.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Use the HDS to update the PGM-FI software in the ECM.

NOTE:
This software update will improve, but not completely eliminate, the characteristics described in the BACKGROUND section of this bulletin.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Use the HDS with software version 2.005.004 or later to update the ECM PGM-FI software. Refer to Service Bulletin 01-023, Updating the Control Units/Modules.
