Reception Level Indication Mode (press and hold FM button or AM button for 5 sec)

This diagnostic screen checks the audio unit's reception level in decibels (dB). This level then can be used in the diagnosis of audio unit reception quality.

DISPLAY MESSAGE REFERENCE CHART

Display Message State Remarks
12.3DB Radio reception level is 12.3 dB  
103.5MHz Radio frequency is 103.5 MHz  
TP Antenna power supply (ANT +B) is off With navigation
A.SEL Antenna power supply (ANT +B) is off Without navigation

Preparation: 

  1. Enter the reception level indication mode in the self-diagnostic function.
  2. Tune to the FM radio station you wrote down in Preparation using the TUNING knob, and note the decibel level of that station when you release the button.
  3. Press and release the TITLE button (with navigation) or SCAN button (without navigation with USB adapter and 3 line display type) or A.SEL button (without navigation 1 line display type) to turn the AM/FM antenna amplifier off.
  4. Note the decibel level of that station with the antenna amplifier off.
  5. Press and release the TITLE button (with navigation) or SCAN button (without navigation with USB adapter and 3 line display type) or A.SEL button (without navigation 1 line display type) to turn the AM/FM antenna amplifier back on.
  6. Press and hold the AM/FM button or AM button for more than 5 seconds to enter the AM reception mode.
  7. Tune to the AM radio station you wrote down in preparation using the TUNING knob, and note the decibel level of that station.
  8. Press and release the TITLE button (with navigation) or SCAN button (without navigation with USB adapter and 3 line display type) or A.SEL button (without navigation 1 line display type) to turn the antenna amplifier off.
  9. Note the decibel level of that station with the antenna amplifier off.
  10. Press and release the TITLE button (with navigation) or SCAN button (without navigation with USB adapter and 3 line display type) or A.SEL button (without navigation 1 line display type) to turn the AM/FM antenna amplifier back on.
  11. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK(0) or audio unit off to exit the test mode.
  12. Compare your results to a known-good, (make sure it is the same year and trim level) in the same location and direction, and under the same environmental conditions.
