Shift Lock Solenoid Replacement
NOTE:
- Refer to SHIFT LEVER DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY as needed during the following procedures.
- Make sure not to get any silicone grease on the terminal part of the connectors and switches, especially if you have silicone grease on your hands or gloves.
- Remove the shift lever assembly (see SHIFT LEVER REMOVAL ).
- Disconnect the D3 switch connector (A), and remove the connection clip (B) from the mounting bracket.
- Remove the screws (A), and remove the shift lever knob (B) from the shift lever.
- Remove the A/T gear position indicator panel light socket (A) from the indicator panel, and remove the A/T gear position indicator panel (B).
- Release the lock tabs (A) retaining the shift lock solenoid through the left shift lever mounting bracket using thin blade screwdrivers.
- Remove the shift lock solenoid (A).
- Apply sillicone grease to the solenoid plunger (6), and plunger spring (C) assembly, and the shift lock stop.
- Install the new shift lock solenoid.
- Install the A/T gear position indicator panel, and install the shift position indicator panel light socket (A) in the indicator panel (B).
- Apply silicone grease to the top of the shift lever rod (A), and secure the shift lever knob (B) with the new screws (C).
- Install the D3 switch connector clip, and connect the D3 switch connector.
- Install the shift lever assembly (see SHIFT LEVER INSTALLATION ).
