Pressure Test
Special Tools Required
- A/T Oil Pressure Gauge Set 07406-0020401 or 07406-0020400
- A/T Pressure Hose, 2, 210 mm 07MAJ-PY4011A
- A/T Pressure Adapter 07MAJ-PY40120
NOTE:
- Disable the VSA by pressing the VSA OFF button.
- VSA DTC(s) may be set during the test-drive. If VSA DTC(s) come on, clear the DTC(s) with the HDS.
- Make sure the transmission fluid is filled to the proper level (see ATF LEVEL CHECK ).
- Raise the vehicle on a lift, and make sure it is securely supported.
- Allow the all four wheels to rotate freely.
- Remove the splash shield).
- Connect the HDS to the DLC (A).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II). Make sure the HDS communicates with the PCM, and go to the A/T Data List. If it does not, go to the DLC circuit troubleshooting (see DLC CIRCUIT TROUBLESHOOTING ).
- Connect the A/T oil pressure gauge to the line pressure inspection port (A). Do not allow dust or other foreign particles to enter the hole while connecting the gauge.
- Start the engine, and warm it up to normal operating temperature (the radiator fan comes on).
- Measure the line pressure at the line pressure inspection hole (A) in the P or N while holding the engine speed at 2, 000 rpm.NOTE: Higher pressure may be indicated if measurements are made in shift lever positions other than P or N.CLUTCH FLUID PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS
Pressure Fluid Pressure Standard Service Limit Line (A) 950-1, 010 kPa (9.7-10.3 kgf/cm2 , 138-147 psi) 910 kPa (9.2 kgf/cm2 , 132 psi) - Turn the engine off, then disconnect the oil pressure gauge from the line pressure inspection port.
- Install the sealing bolt to the line pressure inspection port with a new sealing washer, and tighten the bolts to 18 N.m (1.8 kgf.m, 13 lbf.ft). Do not reuse the old sealing washer.
- Connect the A/T oil pressure gauge to the 1st clutch pressure inspection hole (8) and the 1st-hold clutch pressure inspection hole (C).
- Remove the engine cover and air intake duct, and connect the A/T oil pressure gauge to the 2nd clutch pressure inspection port (D). Then temporarily install the air intake duct.
- Start the engine in P.
- Shift into 1, and measure the 1st clutch pressure at the 1st clutch pressure inspection port (B) and the 1st-hold clutch pressure at the 1st-hold clutch pressure inspection port (C) while holding the engine speed at 2, 000 rpm.
- Shift to 2, and measure the 2nd clutch pressure at the 2nd clutch pressure inspection hole (D) while holding the engine speed at 2, 000 rpm.CLUTCH FLUID PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS
Pressure Fluid Pressure Standard Service Limit 1st clutch (B) 2nd clutch (D) 940-1, 020 kPa (9.6-10.4 kgf/cm2 , 137-148 psi) 890 kPa (9.1 kgf/cm2 , 129 psi) 1st-hold clutch (C) 680-760 kPa (6.9-7.7 kgf/cm2 , 98-110 psi) 630 kPa (6.4 kgf/cm2 , 91 psi) - Turn the engine off, then disconnect the A/T oil pressure gauges from the 1st clutch pressure, 1st-hold clutch pressure, and 2nd clutch pressure inspection ports.
- Install the sealing bolts in the 1st clutch pressure, 1st clutch hold clutch pressure, and 2nd clutch pressure inspection ports with new sealing washers, and tighten the bolts to 18 N.m (1.8 kgf.m, 13 lbf.ft). Do not reuse the old sealing washers.
- Connect the A/T oil pressure gauge to the 3rd clutch pressure inspection port (E) and the 5th clutch pressure inspection port (G).
- Remove the bolt and the clamp to move the harness aside to access to the 4th clutch pressure inspection port (F). Connect the A/T oil pressure gauge to the 4th clutch pressure inspection port.
- Start the engine with the transmission in P while pressing the brake pedal.
- Shift to D, and select the D3 driving mode by pressing the D3 switch. Release the brake pedal; the transmission is in 1st gear.
- Press the accelerator pedal to increase the engine speed to 2, 500 rpm; the transmission shifts into 2nd gear.
- Release the accelerator pedal; the engine speed decreases to 1, 000 rpm with the transmission in 2nd gear.
- Press the accelerator pedal very slowly so that the engine speed increases to 2, 000 rpm on 5 seconds, then hold the accelerator; the transmission shifts into 3rd gear. Measure the 3rd clutch pressure at the 3rd clutch pressure inspection port (E) while holding the engine speed at 2, 000 rpm.
- Release the D3 driving mode by pressing the D3 switch; the transmission shifts into 4th gear, then 5th gear. Measure the 4th clutch pressure at the 4th clutch pressure inspection port (F) and the 5th clutch pressure at the 5th clutch pressure inspection hole (G) while holding the engine speed at 2, 000 rpm.CLUTCH FLUID PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS
