DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P0562 (309) (Generator Motor Control Module)
DTC P0562 (309): Generator Motor Control Module System Voltage Low
General Description
The drive motor control module (DMCM) and the generator control module (GCM) are in the motor control module. When the back-up power supply voltage is a specified voltage for a set time, each processor detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.
Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type
| Execution | Continuous |
| Sequence | None |
| Duration | 2.0 seconds or more |
| DTC Type | One drive cycle, MIL on, POWER SYSTEM indicator on, 12 volt battery charging system indicator off |
Enable Conditions
| Condition | Minimum | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| 12 volt battery voltage | 8.2 V | - |
Malfunction Threshold
The back-up power supply voltage (VBU terminal) is 0.7 V or less for at least 2.0 seconds.
Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
- Motor control module VBU line open (include fuse blown)
- Motor control module failure
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL and the POWER SYSTEM indicator comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the motor control module memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL and the POWER SYSTEM indicator is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the POWER SYSTEM indicator, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the 12 volt battery.
