DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P1DED (584), P1DED (584) (Traction Motor Control Module)
DTC P1DED (584): VCU I1 Current Sensor 2 Circuit Low (Traction Motor Control Module Detected)DTC P1DED (584): VCU I1 Current Sensor 2 Circuit Low (Generator Motor Control Module Detected)
General Description
The motor control module protects the power element by the I1 current sensor B (primary side current) in the power control unit (PCU). If the output voltage of the I1 current sensor B is out of the lower limit for a set time, the motor control module detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.
Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type
| Execution | Continuous |
| Sequence | None |
| Duration | 500 milliseconds or more |
| DTC Type | One drive cycle, MIL on, POWER SYSTEM indicator on, 12 volt battery charging system indicator off |
Enable Conditions
| Condition | Minimum | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| 12 volt battery voltage | 6.5 V | - |
Malfunction Threshold
The output voltage from the I1 current sensor B is less than 0.15 V at least 100 times.
Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
- I1 current sensor B power supply line open
- I1 current sensor B signal line open
- I1 current sensor B signal line short to ground
- I1 current sensor B failure
- Motor control module failure
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL and the POWER SYSTEM indicator comes on, and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the motor control module memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL and the POWER SYSTEM indicator is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the POWER SYSTEM indicator, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the 12 volt battery.
