DTC P07E4: Unable to Engage Park
General Description
The transmission control module (TCM) monitors whether the parking lock pawl engagement/disengagement to the parking interlock gear is equal to the driver's request by shifting the SBW shifter assembly. If the parking lock pawl remain disengaged to the parking interlock gear for a specified duration when the SBW shifter assembly is selected to P position/mode, the TCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
The parking lock pawl remain disengaged to the parking interlock gear for at least 1 second when the SBW shifter assembly is selected to P position/mode.
Possible Cause
The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.

Operating Condition
- 1.
Start the engine.
- 2.
While pressing the brake pedal, shift the transmission to P position/mode for at least 1 second.
With the HDS
None.
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the A/T gear position indicator blinks and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the TCM memory. The MIL does not come on.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The A/T gear position indicator comes off by turning the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. The Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command.
