DTC P0880: TCM Power Input Signal
General Description
The transmission control module (TCM) inputs a signal from IG1 line as an activation signal. Also, the TCM receives IG1 FUEL PUMP input signal from the powertrain control module (PCM) via communication line (F-CAN A and F-CAN B). If the IG1 input signal of the TCM and the IG1 FUEL PUMP input signal received from PCM via communication line do not match for a specified duration, the TCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
Either one of the conditions is met for at least 1 second:
- The IG1 input signal of the TCM is ON and the IG1 FUEL PUMP input signal of the PCM is OFF.
- The IG1 input signal of the TCM is OFF and the IG1 FUEL PUMP input signal of the PCM is ON.
Possible Cause
The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
- TCM IG1 line open (includes a loose or disconnected connector)
- TCM +B line open (includes a loose or disconnected connector)
- TCM VBSOL line open (includes a loose or disconnected connector)
- TCM VBSOL2 line open (includes a loose or disconnected connector)
- TCM GND1 line open (includes a loose or disconnected connector)
- TCM GND2 line open (includes a loose or disconnected connector)
- TCM VBSOL line short to ground
- TCM VBSOL2 line short to ground
- TCM internal failure
- PCM internal failure
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the A/T gear position indicator blinks and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the TCM memory. The MIL does not come on.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The A/T gear position indicator comes off by turning the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. The Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command.
