Crossmember Replacement (Lower Control Arm)


Removal Procedure

1.Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

2.Remove the underbody shields. Refer to Catalytic Converter Guard Replacement Service and Repair .

3.Support the front differential.





1.Remove the differential mounting nut, bolt, and washer. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement .





1.Remove the crossmember mounting bolts.

2.Remove the crossmember from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1.Install the crossmember to the vehicle.

2.Perform the following procedure before installing the bolts.

-Remove all traces of the original adhesive patch.

-Clean the threads of the bolt with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.

-Apply Threadlocker GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488).

Notice:Refer to Fastener Notice .

3.Install the bolts and the nuts.

TightenTighten the nuts to 90 N �m (66 lb ft).

1.Remove the differential support.





1.Install the differential mounting nut, bolt, and washer. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement .

2.Install the underbody shields. Refer to Catalytic Converter Guard Replacement Service and Repair .

3.Lower the vehicle.
