Retrieving Codes (Non-Scan)
- Ensure battery is fully charged before retrieving codes. ECM memory is erased when battery is disconnected. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Ground data link connector terminal No. 10 for at least 2.5 seconds, but not more than 4 seconds. See Fig 1
.
- Malfunction indicator light (MIL) will flash first code stored or "no fault detected" Code (4444). MIL will continue to flash same code until terminal No. 10 is grounded again. Follow grounding procedure instep 1).
- MIL will flash all codes stored with each terminal grounding until "end of output" (3333) is flashed. Retrieve trouble codes before conducting component or harness checks.
