Engine Block: Removal
CAUTION:
- Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.
- To avoid damage, unplug the wiring connectors carefully while holding the connector portion.
NOTE:
- Mark all wiring and hoses to avoid misconnection.
- Inspection the timing belt before removing the cylinder head.
- Turn the crankshaft pulley so that the No.1 piston is at top dead center. (Refer to VALVE CLEARANCE INSPECTION AND ADJUSTMENT )
- Engine removal is required for this procedure.
- Remove exhaust manifold. (Refer to EXHAUST MANIFOLD )
- Remove intake manifold. (Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD )
- Remove timing chain. (Refer to REMOVAL )
- Remove water temperature control assembly. (Refer to REMOVAL )
- Remove cylinder head. (Refer to REMOVAL )
- Remove oil pump. (Refer to REMOVAL )
- Remove oil filter assembly. (Refer to REMOVAL )
- Remove A/C compressor (A) from engine.
- Remove alternator (A) from engine.
- Remove power steering pump (A) from engine.
