DTC DETECTING CONDITION CHART

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Coolant temp. not reached warm up state
  • Contact resistance in connectors
  • Defective cooling system
  • Defective thermostat
Case1) Enable Conditions
  • No other TCO failure already present
  • 6 < Battery voltage < 16V
Threshold Value
  • Measured coolant temp. < 74°C (165°F) When modeled coolant temp. > 85°C (185°F)
Diagnostic Time
  • 10~30 minutes (depending on start temp)
Case2) Enable Conditions
  • No relevant failure
  • Oil temperature at engine stop of previous DC > 70°C (158°F)
  • ECT at engine stop of previous DC > 70°C (158°F)
  • Engine oil temperature at Start < 35°C (95°F)
  • Intake Air Temperature at Start < 35°C (95°F)
Threshold Value
  • Start coolant temperature > 53°C (127°F) with oil temperature < 35°C (95°F)
Diagnostic Time
  • Immediate
Fail Safe
  • Catalyst monitoring is inhibited
  • Post catalyst fuel trim system monitoring is inhibited
Mil On Condition
  • 2 Driving Cycles
