Component Inspection

■ Check Multifunction switch 

  1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF".
  3. Substitute with a known-good Multifunction switch and Check if the DTC is erased.
  4. Is the DTC erased?

    YES 

    • substitute with a known-good Multifunction switch and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Multifunction switch and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Go to  1Check BCM procedure.

■ Check BCM 

  1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF".
  3. Substitute with a known-good BCM and Check if the DTC is erased.
  4. Is the DTC erased?

    YES 

    • Substitute with a known-good BCM and check for proper operation.

      If the problem is corrected, replace BCM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
