Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Pull the shift lever knob (A) upward to remove.

  2. Remove the center console.

    (Refer to CONSOLE ).

  3. Disconnect the sport mode connector (A).

  4. Disconnect the wire (A) for the airbag assembly.

  5. Take off the clip (A) and remove the shift cable assembly (B).

  6. Remove the shift lever assembly (A) by removing the four bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    9 ~ 14 N.m (0.9 ~ 1.4 kgf.m, 6.51 ~ 10.12 lb-ft)

  7. Remove the shift cable assembly from the transmission.

    (Refer to Removal  in this group)

  8. Pull the rubber plug on the floor and pull out the shift cable assembly.
