Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  2. Remove the battery and battery tray.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "BATTERY , and BATTERY TRAY ")

  3. Loosen the nut (B) and then removing the shift cable (A) from the shift cable bracket.

  4. Remove the floor console assembly.

    (Refer to Body - "FLOOR CONSOLE ")

  5. Separate the shift cable.
    1. Remove the snap pin (A).
    2. Separate the shift cable eye end (B).
    3. Separate the shift cable socket (C) from the shift lever.

  6. Remove the air bag system control module.

    (Refer to Air Bag System - "SRS CONTROL MODULE (SRSCM) ")

  7. Loosen the retainer mounting nuts (A).
  8. Remove the shift cable by pulling it toward the interior.
