Repair Procedures: Installation

Install the retainer (A) and then tighten the nut (B).
Tightening torque:

11.8 - 14.7 N.m (1.2 - 1.5 kgf.m, 8.7 - 10.8 lb-ft)

Install the heater and blower.
(Refer to Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning - "HEATER UNIT ")
Install the crash pad.
(Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "CRASH PAD ")

Install the shift cable (B) and then fix the snap pin (A).

CAUTION:

Before installing, check that the shift lever and manual control lever are placed in the "N" position.

Insert the shift cable after checking the direction of projection to prevent wrong assembly.

Remove the floor console assembly.
(Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "FLOOR CONSOLE ")
Install the shift lever knob & boots (A).

Push the shift cable (B) slightly in the direction of the arrow to remove the clearance, and then tighten the nut (A) to the specified torque.
Tightening torque:

9.8 - 13.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb-ft)

CAUTION:
- Replace the cable clip, use a new one.

Install the battery and tray.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "BATTERY ")
Install the ECM.
(Refer to Engine Control System - ("REPAIR PROCEDURES ").
Install the air cleaner assembly and air duct.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")
CAUTION:
- Check that operating surely at each range of the inhibitor switch corresponding to each position of shift lever.
