Repair Procedures: Removal

CAUTION:
  • Be careful not to damage the parts located under the vehicle (floor under cover, fuel filter, fuel tank and canister) when raising the vehicle using the lift.

    (Refer to General Information - " LIFT AND SUPPORT POINTS  ") 

WARNING:
  • Be sure to read and follow the "General Safety Information And Caution " before doing any work related with the high voltage system. Failure to follow the safety instructions may result in serious electrical injuries.
  • Be sure to read and follow the "High Voltage Shut-Off Procedures " before doing any work related with the high voltage system. Failure to follow the safety instructions may result in serious electrical injuries.
  1. Perform the oil pressure characteristics backup procedure using the diagnostic tool when replacing with a new TCM.

  2. Shut off the high voltage circuit.

    (Refer to Automatic Transaxle System - " REPAIR PROCEDURE  ") 

  3. Remove the glove box.

    (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - " GLOVE BOX  ") 

  4. Remove the Integrated Body Control Unit (IBU).

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - " INTEGRATED BODY CONTROL UNIT (IBU)  ") 

  5. Remove the heater control unit.

    (Refer to Heating, Ventilation And Air Conditioning - " HEATER CONTROL UNIT  ") 

  6. Disconnect the TCM connector (A).

  7. Loosen the nuts and bolt and then removing the TCM (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)
