SERVICE INFORMATION

Beginning August 12, 1996, all Infiniti dealers will receive a new J38486-961PPS CONSULT program card. This program card supports the new Infiniti Personalized Protection System (IPPS) found on every 1997 Q45. The IPPS is a state-of-the-art vehicle immobilizer. If the ignition key is misplaced, CONSULT must be used with the IPPS program card and 1997 Q45 Service Manual to correctly re-program a new ignition key to the vehicle.

NOTE: Storage and use of the IPPS program card must be closely monitored to ensure complete integrity of the IPPS. Dealers must establish a secure place in their dealership to ensure the IPPS program card does not become misplaced. Only authorized Infiniti dealerships will be able to purchase additional program cards from Tech-Mate at 800-NMC-2001.
