DTC Confirmation Test (With Generic Scan Tool)

NOTE: If an incorrect fuel filler cap is used or fuel filler cap is not tightened properly, MIL may illuminate. Use only a genuine NISSAN rubber hose as replacement. Never remove fuel filler cap during DTC confirmation test procedure.
  1. Ensure EVAP hoses are properly connected to EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve.
  2. Ensure fuel level is between 1/4 and 3/4 full and vehicle is parked on a flat, level surface.
  3. Start engine. Drive vehicle according to driving pattern. See SYSTEM READINESS TEST  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  4. Stop vehicle. Select MODE 1. If SRT of EVAP system is not set, go to following step. If SRT of EVAP system is set, result will be okay.
  5. Start engine. Drive vehicle again according to driving pattern. See SYSTEM READINESS TEST  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  6. Stop vehicle. Select MODE 3. If P0455 is displayed, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If P0442 is displayed, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  under DTC P0442. If P0441 is displayed, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  under DTC P0441. If P0441, P0442 or P0455 are not displayed, go to next step.
  7. Select MODE 1 with scan tool. If SRT of EVAP system is set, result is okay. If SRT of EVAP system is not set, go to step  5 .
