Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR FUNCTION

    G-20 With CONSULT

    1. Turn ignition switch ON (engine stopped).
    2. On CONSULT screen, select "ENGINE" >> "DATA MONITOR" >> "ACCELERATOR PEDAL SEN 1" and "ACCELERATOR PEDAL SEN 2".
    3. Check the value of monitor items as following conditions.
      Item Condition Value
      ACCELERATOR PEDAL SEN 1 Accelerator pedal: fully released 0.2 - 0.5 V
      Accelerator pedal: fully depressed 4.3 - 4.8 V
      ACCELERATOR PEDAL SEN 2 Accelerator pedal: fully released 0.1 - 0.5 V
      Accelerator pedal: fully depressed 2.1 - 2.5 V

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    INSPECTION END

    NO 

    GO TO STEP 2  .

  2. CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR POWER SUPPLY

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect accelerator pedal position sensor harness connector.
    3. Turn ignition switch ON.
    4. Check the voltage between accelerator pedal position sensor harness connector and ground.
      + - Voltage
      (Approx.)
      Accelerator pedal position sensor
      Connector Terminal
      E95 1 Ground 4.75 - 5.25 V
      5

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 4  .

    NO 

    GO TO STEP 3  .

  3. CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect ECM harness connector.
    3. Check the continuity between accelerator pedal position sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.
      + - Continuity
      Accelerator pedal position sensor ECM
      Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
      E95 1 E48 104 Existed
      5 105
    4. Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    Perform trouble diagnosis for ECM power supply circuit. Refer to DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE .

    NO 

    Repair or replace error-detected parts.

  4. CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect ECM harness connector.
    3. Check the continuity between accelerator pedal position sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.
      + - Continuity
      Accelerator pedal position sensor ECM
      Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
      E95 2 E48 132 Existed
      3 106
      4 119
      6 145
    4. Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    Replace accelerator pedal position sensor. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NO 

    Repair or replace error-detected parts.
