Computers and Control Systems: Service Precautions

1. Do not get water on any of the I-Tec Fuel and Engine Control System components. The relay box and throttle valve switch connector are not waterproof and can be affected by water.
2. When charging battery, ensure battery cables are removed.
3. When replacing components, disconnect battery ground cable.
4. When measuring voltage at the control unit harness connector, disconnect harness connector first, then turn ignition ``On'' as necessary.
5. To prevent deforming control unit harness connectors, do not probe terminals directly. Instead, insert a pin from harness side and perform measurements through pin.
6. I-Tec Fuel and Engine Control System wiring must be at least 4 inches away from high tension cables.
