(1) On Pickup and Rodeo, measure voltage at Pink wire and Light Green wire terminals with ignition on. On Trooper, measure voltage at Gray wire and Gray/Red wire terminals with ignition on.

(1) Resistance will vary with temperature change.
(2) On Impulse and Stylus, measure resistance between Black wire and Light Blue wire terminals. On Trooper, measure resistance between Black wire and White/Red wire terminals.
TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE (IMPULSE)

(1) For terminal locations, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
(2) Voltage should increase smoothly from closed to wide open throttle.
NOTE: For testing vehicle speed sensor on Trooper, see ENGINE SENSORS & SWITCHES in I - SYS/COMP TESTS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR CONTINUITY TEST (1)

Application (2) Continuity
All Models 4 Changes Per Revolution
(1) Measure continuity at back of speedometer. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
(2) Turn speedometer cable to cycle reed switch on and off.
VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR VOLTAGE TEST (1)

Application (2) Volts
All Models Less than 10
(1) Measure voltage at back of speedometer. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
(2) With ignition on, turn speedometer cable to cycle reed switch on and off.
