Power Window Switch Circuit (Driver's Side Switch)

NOTE: Circuit testing is performed at drivers' side power window switch.
  1. Remove power window switch from door trim panel. Disconnect power window switch harness connectors. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between power window switch connector terminals No. 1 and 2. SeeFig 1 . Continuity should exist. Check continuity between power window switch connector terminals No. 3 and 6, with right rear power window switch in DOWN position. Continuity should exist.
  2. Check continuity between power window switch connector terminals No. 4 and 6, with right rear power window switch in UP position. Continuity should exist. Check continuity between power window switch connector terminals No. 4 and 3. Continuity should exist.
  3. Check continuity between power window switch connector terminal No. 6 and ground. Continuity should not exist. Check continuity between power window switch connector terminals No. 6 and 7, with right front power window switch in DOWN position. Continuity should exist.
  4. Check continuity between power window switch connector terminals No. 6 and 12, with right front power window switch in UP position. Continuity should exist. Check continuity between power window switch connector terminals No. 7 and 12. SeeFig 1 . Continuity should exist.
  5. Check continuity between power window switch connector terminals No. 6 and 8, with left rear power window switch in DOWN position. Continuity should exist. Check continuity between power window switch connector terminals No. 6 and 11, with left rear power window switch in UP position. Continuity should exist.
  6. Using a DVOM, check voltage between power window switch connector terminal No. 9 and ground, with ignition switch in ON position. Battery voltage should be present. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between power window switch connector terminal No. 10 and ground. Continuity should exist.
  7. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between power window switch connector terminals No. 8 and 11. Continuity should exist. Check continuity between power window switch connector terminals No. 7 and 12. SeeFig 1 . Continuity should exist.
  8. If continuity or voltage is not as specified in any of the previous steps, repair appropriate circuit as necessary. If all circuits are okay, check, repair or replace appropriate component(s) as necessary.
