Power Window Circuit

NOTE: Circuit testing is performed at driver-side power window switch.
  1. Remove switch from door trim panel. Disconnect power window switch harness connectors. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between the power window switch connector terminals No. 1 and 2. SeeFig 1 . Continuity should exist. Check continuity between power window switch connector terminals No. 5 and 10. Continuity should exist.
  2. Check continuity between power window switch connector terminals No. 6 and 9. Continuity should exist. Using a DVOM, check voltage between power window switch connector terminal No. 7 and ground with ignition switch in ON position. Battery voltage should be present.
  3. Check continuity between power window switch connector terminal No. 8 and ground. SeeFig 1 . Continuity should exist. Using a DVOM, check voltage between power window switch connector terminal No. 11 and ground with light switch in ON position. Battery voltage should be present. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between power window switch connector terminal No. 12 and ground. Continuity should exist.
  4. Check continuity between power window switch connector terminals No. 13 and 14. Continuity should exist. If continuity or voltage is not as specified in any of the previous steps, repair appropriate circuit as necessary. If all circuits are okay, repair or replace components as necessary.
