Magnetic Switch (Solenoid) Test

With solenoid removed from starter, connect DVOM between solenoid terminal "S" and solenoid body. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If continuity is indicated, replace solenoid. Check for continuity between solenoid terminals "S" and "M". If continuity is not indicated, replace solenoid. Check for continuity between solenoid terminals "B" and "M" while depressing solenoid plunger. If continuity is not indicated when solenoid plunger is depressed, replace solenoid.
