Circuit Description
Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) signal pulses are used by PCM to initiate fuel injection. CMP and CKP sensor pulses are constantly being compared to each other. PCM will set DTC P0342 if CMP sensor pulses are not being received by PCM.
Conditions required to set DTC are:
- Engine running.
- PCM not receiving reference pulses from CMP once every 4 cyinders.
- Listed condition occurs for 10 seconds.
